Cathy's Newsletter

July 2000

Hello, all;

In July, I had an interview with XXL, a national rap magazine, with an all-day photo shoot in Las Vegas. I believe the article, a Q & A, will be out in September.

Also, I've been hard at work on the Ted Binion manuscript. I hope to have it finished soon. And an advance copy to The Murder of Biggie Smalls was sent out to newspapers and magazines. Source magazine was reviewing it, and it should be out soon, as well. The cover to the Biggie Smalls book is posted on my web site and the book should be available for purchase by the first week in September.

Nothing has changed with APBNews.com. They're still operating with a skeleton crew and working on getting a financial backer. It's a great crime source -- so check it out if you get a chance -- and my fingers are still crossed for it to stay alive.

The first week in July, I completed a 6,000-word article for Texas Architect magazine. It was a bear to finish, mostly because of the length and the subject, safety in schools.

Next month I'm headed to Indianapolis, Ind., for a Leaders Retreat, sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists. I'll also be there for the ribbon cutting on the new headquarters.

Thanks for stopping in, and check back again next month!

Best regards,
